Army Apprentice National Memorial Dedication
A service of dedication and unveiling of the Army Apprentice National Memorial took place at the National Memorial Arboretum,Staffordshire on 07th September 2011.The welcome address was by Major David C. Chapman (Chepstow) Chairman of the AANM Trustees.The unveiling was by the Patron Major General G.B. Berragan CB
The memorial is dedicated to the memory of all British Army apprentices and has been funded by donations from ex-apprentices or their families,as well as by a number of local councils and regimental associations.The project to erect an Army Apprentice national memorial,was initiated in 2009 by four old boy's associations of the former army apprentice schools of Chepstow,Arborfield,Harrogate and Carlisle.It was recognised as a charity in 2010.
